security and information management offering
to the Rail segment by acquiring Mitron Oy,
the Finnish provider of public transportation
information systems and modern display solutions.
Teleste Rail is an end-to-end video security and information solution which
covers stations and rail cars, as well as wireless telecommunication between
the two. The solution is designed to allow for rapid, seamless integration of
on-board and station systems and technologies under a single-umbrella system.
It supports real-time connectivity between rail cars and stations, including live
video transmission, wireless offload of video recordings from rail cars to stations
and central storage, real-time management from stations and an on-board PIS
system, as well as real-time diagnostics of trains.
Teleste Rail includes advanced passenger information and video management
systems, both in rail cars and at the station, enabling access to accurate and
timely information, as well as rapid and correct situational awareness and
actions. In short, the solution ensures that the right message is delivered to
the right people at the right time. The solution also helps rail operators offer
more advanced, better-quality passenger services through, e.g., live onboard
entertainment and infotainment.
